Rosebery

A quiet oasis of tree-lined streets and gourmet food, Rosebery is rising high in the so-called ‘liveability’ stakes. From largely industrial beginnings, this suburb just six kilometres from Sydney’s CBD has been transformed into a place to eat, drink and play.

Adjacent to Sydney’s new hub of Green Square, with a library and aquatic centre, cycle-ways and a public plaza planned for the precinct, Rosebery will be on the doorstep of a wide array of publicly-funded leisure infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the 100-year-old Rosella Soup factory in Rosebery has already morphed into the Cannery: a centre filled with gourmet food outlets, including the Black Star patisserie – famed for its watermelon cake, as well as restaurants, a distiller and even a gym.

Messina Gelato – the ice-cream that creates queues wherever it is - now maintains headquarters and a retail outlet in Rosebery; and the Sweetacres factory, where once Australia’s favourite Minties and Jaffas were made, has become a residential development next to the new Sweetacres park.

Rosebery’s array of large and light-filled modern apartments – many gazing toward the city – feature the very latest in design and space-maximising layout.
